Walmart has now reportedly been reimbursed for a multimillion-dollar settlement stemming from a horrific crash involving one of its trucks that nearly killed comedian Tracy Morgan in 2014.

After the big-box store struck a deal with Morgan last year over the deadly wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike that killed his friend, comedian James 'Jimmy Mack' McNair, and left the Saturday Night Live alumnus badly injured, it filed a claim with its insurance company, XL Insurance America, in hopes of getting reimbursed for the loss.

The insurer had initially turned down Walmart's claim, leading the retailer to file a civil lawsuit.

On Wednesday, TMZ reported that XL Insurance has agreed to pony up either a portion or the entire sum that Walmart had paid Morgan and McNair’s estate.

Comedian Damon Wayans let it slip in an interview last year that Morgan received $90million from Walmart in the settlement, but Morgan's representatives have denied that figure.

On June 7, 2014, the luxury party bus that Morgan was riding in after performing a show in Delaware with fellow comedians Jimmy McNair, Harris Stanton and Ardie Fuqua was rear-ended by a Walmart tractor-trailer operated by driver Kevin Roper.

McNair died in the accident, while Morgan suffered a broken leg, several broken ribs, and a brain injury. The 30 Rock star spent more than two years in rehabilitation, having to learn anew how to talk and walk.

In mid-October Morgan returned to the stage at Dover Downs, Delaware, where he performed to a packed-out audience - the exact same stage he performed before being involved in the fatal crash.

Roper, 35, of Georgia, has been charged with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide and aggravated assault. He has pleaded not guilty.

Investigators said Roper was speeding when he crashed into the comedians' limo van on the New Jersey Turnpike.
