The body of a punk singer known as "Shaggy" has been found after she was reportedly raped, killed, and then buried in a hole in the ground before it was concreted over.

Cops in Russia who confirmed finding the young woman's body have arrested a 45-year-old taxi driver for allegedly raping the 20-year-old and pouring concrete over her body after digging a hole in a basement below his garage.

The singer's body was discovered the night of June 8 in the basement of a shared garage in the Zavodskoy district of the city of Saratov, southeast of Moscow.

The victim, whose real name was Elizaveta, had gone missing two days earlier.

Rescue workers removed her body from the concrete and handed it over to forensic experts, who found that she had sustained multiple injuries to her head and body.

The cause of her death was later given as blunt force trauma to the head.

The suspect is a local resident and minicab driver whose name was not divulged.

He reportedly admitted to his actions and told police he had also punched the young woman in the face before striking her with a metal object.

The footage shows the suspect showing a group of investigators - with the help of a mannequin - how he allegedly killed the young woman by hitting her on the head with a metal object.

Investigators said he had spotted Elizaveta on the street in the early hours of June 6 and offered her a lift in his car. The two had previously never met.

Instead of taking her to her destination, he took her to the garage, where he allegedly raped her.

The young woman managed to send a message on her mobile phone to an unnamed friend after the sexual assault, but it was not enough to save her life.

After allegedly killing Elizaveta, the suspect left the scene but returned to the garage later that day to dig the hole, throw his victim's body into it, and fill it with cement.

Elizaveta was a singer and followed the punk subculture. Her friends knew her as "Shaggy."

The suspect has been charged with rape and murder accompanied by rape.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Saratov Region is still investigating the case.
