An 18-year-old plummeted 100 feet to his death in a hiking accident one day before his high school graduation.
Jeremy Tyler St. Julian was hiking with five friends at Chantry Flat in the Angeles National Forest near Arcadia, California, on Tuesday night when he fell off a cliff.
The football player was pronounced dead at the scene, and his fellow students held a moment of silence at graduation on Wednesday before cheering when his name was called.

St. Julian was hiking when he fell 100 feet down a canyon, according to Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.
Megan Broussard was hiking nearby when she heard a loud 'bang' followed by cries for help, CBS reported.
A rescue helicopter was called in and St. Julian was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.42pm. An autopsy is pending.
St. Julian's classmates at La Serna High School were devastated by the news of his death, which came one day before he was due to graduate.
Student Jourdan Oliver told KTLA: 'As soon as I heard what happened I just started bawling. The timing of it was just terrible and no one should ever go through that.'
Superintendent Martin Plourde honored St. Julian on Wednesday with a moment of silence during the commencement ceremony before his classmates released balloons in his honor.

Plourde, who said he would deliver St Julian's diploma to his parents, read a prepared statement on their behalf.
He said: 'We honor Jeremy’s memory this evening by celebrating with joy the accomplishments of his classmates as members of the La Serna High School Class of 2017 as they graduate from high school.'
The school also issued a statement that read: 'Our deepest condolences go out to the St. Julian family and Jeremy's entire Lancer Family #54 #YouAreLoved'
Friends paid tribute to the 18-year-old, describing him as funny and well loved, while Paige Tillman called him the 'life of the party' and remembered his dance moves.
'He was so excited to finish high school and graduate with everyone,' his friend Jocelyn Gutierrez told Whittier Daily News.
